- Institute of Foreign Languages -



Institute of Foreign Languages is one of the first joint units of the University of Montenegro. It was founded in 1978 as an independent institution in education and research work in the field of foreign languages.
The undergraduate activity of the Institute is organization and carrying out of foreign languages teaching in general and of language for specific purposes. Foreign languages teaching includes four classes a week in the following foreign languages: English, Russian, Italian, French and German. After passing the exams, students obtain certificates on their knowledge of general and foreign language for specific purposes.
Scientific activities of the Institute include research in the field of linguistics and literature, as well as interdisciplinary fields (literary linguistics, socio-linguistics, psycholinguistcs, etc.).

The Institute also organizes courses of general and language for specific purposes for general public, as well as Cambridge courses for obtaining degrees of the following levels:

- FCE (First Certificate in English),
- CAE (Certificate of Advanced English)
- CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English).

The Institute also has its publishing activities and it has so far published a large number of books and teaching materials from the field of linguistics, literature and foreign languages teaching methods.

Highly educated professionals who studied at universities in the country and abroad are employed at the Institute. Teachers at the Institute publish their works and participate at numerous conferences in the field of the study of language and literature in the country and abroad.
