The 2nd Research Open Day

The 2nd Research Open Day of the Fore-Mont project and Research Centre for ICT were organized on 26th May 2016 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (University of Montenegro).

The specific of this Open Day edition was in the fact that it was organized in conjunction with the Fore-Mont workshop no 3 “Turning innovative ideas into start-ups”, held on 25th May 2016. Thus, together with the workshop, apart from standard agenda issues, it served as a platform for realizing an additional agenda’s topic: competition on the best innovative idea in ICT. In that manner, during the two-days presentations of the ICT innovative ideas, selected by the Fore-Mont team after the national wide call, were organized. The competition itself included slots for further work on the selected ideas, under the mentorship of the mentors engaged for the occasion. After that, the teams dis their final pitch and the winners were chosen and awarded.

This event, with such a specific concept, enabled excellent promotion of the Fore-Mont and its Research Centre for ICT to a number of visitors. At its opening, the Project Coordinator Prof. Milica Pejanović-Djurišić summarized the results and achievements during the three years of the Project implementation and the two years of the Research Centre operation. She also emphasized that the Centre will remain open for students, master and PhD candidates to perform their research, to test and realize their ideas and innovation potential. Prof. Veljović, Dean of the FEE, said that the Research Center is recognized as the leading research entity for the ICT, providing innovative advanced solutions for info-communication infrastructures, smart applications and e-services, such as Be Responsible application that has had great impact to Montenegrin society.

The 2nd Research Open Day included different activities, such as:

  • Presentation of the Research Center to the students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering;
  • Presentation to students from secondary schools;
  • Support for the competition for best ICT innovative idea.

 

More than 100 visitors took part in the Research Open Day, including representatives of academic and industrial partners and various institutions. Photos of the event could be found here.
