After the student passes this exam he/she will be able to: define and explain basic legal institutions and legal concepts from ancient times to the present; explain why and how, through history, legal and political institutions have changed; properly interpret methods of creating rights in continental and insular Europe; draws conclusions about the similarities and differences in the method of creating the law and to apply that in practice; assess the importance of Hellenic ideas and Roman legal concepts for contemporary Europe; use the achievements of the European legal tradition as a model for the creation and application of EU law.
