In Brussels New Initiatives of the University of Montenegro Presented: Improving Education Platform in the Field of Information Security

New initiatives of the University of Montenegro in within improving educational platform for information security and importance of cooperation with the Government of France and the Government of Slovenia on the project of Regional Center for fighting against cybercrime (WB3C) were presented at a two-day session of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC) in Brussels.

Since recently, the University of Montenegro has been part of this European Security and Defense College that gives expert and financial support in conducting research, organization of educative activities, conferences and events that promote applied research in the field of information security. Through membership in this college UMNE is authorized to conduct trainings and issue certificates according to ESCD programs.        

Focus of this session, held on February 22nd and 23rd in Brussels, was on the existing status in the field of education within information security, trainings, exercises and evaluation. Proposals are defined for reviewing and developing set of new education models in accordance with recommendations of the European Agency for Cyber Security (ENISA). 

The presentation on UMNE initiatives, in capacity of a member of the Executive Academic Board of ESDC, was held by Dr. Andreja Mihailović, an associate at the UMNE Faculty of Law. At a two-day session, reports on activities implemented in the academic year 2022/23 were adopted and a number of issues in the field of information security had been discussed.
