BIO-ICT coorganiser of "IT 2017 Žabljak" Conference

BIO-ICT Centre of Excellence was the coorganiser of the conference for the second time, with the special session dedicated to BIO-ICT research and innovative solutions. Given the importance of the multidisciplinary nature of BIO-ICT we presented different segments of our work including patents, scientific results and innovative products. BIO-ICT had also a promotive stand during the conference where our young researchers presented BIO-ICT products and  services to all the participants of the conference.

This is the list of papers presented by our researchers at the BIO-ICT special session:

  1. "Physical-chemical parameters and phytoplankton in Boka Kotorska Bay"
  2. "Condition of cultured sea bass and sea bream and occurrence of their spawning in the cages in Boka Kotorska Bay"
  3. "Equipment and mussels valvometry as a biomarker in biomonitoring programs"
  4. "Analysis of Real-Time Measurements of Sea Water Physical Parameters with SEMaR Buoy System"
  5. "Anomaly Detection and Preprocessing of soil database of Montenegro"
  6. "Method for Measuring Released Amount of Water in Smart Irrigation System"
  7. "Measurements calibration analysis of novel IoT platforms"
  8. "Implementation and performance evaluation of OpenFlow Data-Centre network testbed"
  9. "A Brief Overview of IoT Architecture and Web Platforms"
  10. "Cloud Based Solution for Automatic Image Mosaicking and Georeferencing"
  11. "Bioportal.me"
  12. "Retinal blood vessels segmentation using support vector machine and modified line detector".

Topics of plenary sessions, panel round tables and workshops, with a selection of relevant participants, discussed the most significant developments in information and communication technologies. Plenary lectures on software technologies, smart solutions, nanotechnology in the field of sensors, big data solutions are some of the topics discussed at the conference.

One of the most important activities was the active participation of students at IT 2017. Students from all three Montenegrin universities (University of Montenegro, Mediterranean University and University Donja Gorica) participated on the last day of Conference. They attended the panels, but also took part at two students competitions we organised:  Hackathon - competition in programming and IoTON - competition in the implementation of Internet of Things technology.

This year’s conference was sponsored by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) section for Serbia and Montenegro, and the student competitions were supported by a significant number of Montenegrin ICT companies.
