Montenegro is located in South-eastern Europe. It has coast on the Adriatic Sea, and it is known as the pearl of the Mediterranean. Nowhere else can you find, so much natural wealth, beauty, mild beaches, clear lakes, fast rivers, and gorgeous mountains in such a compact area as in Montenegro. In the morning you can wake up along the beautiful Adriatic coast, have lunch on the banks of Skadar Lake, and enjoy an evening walk in the Montenegrin mountains.

The country got its name (literally, „black mountain“) from the dark, mountain forests that cover the land.

How to get to Montenegro?

Most passengers coming to Montenegro via plain will arrive at one of two international airports in: Podgorica (TGD) and Tivat (TIV).

 Also you can check the list of flights via airports of our neighbors: Serbia (Belgrade and Nis), Croatia (Dubrovnik/Zagreb), Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo), Kosovo (Pristina) and Macedonia (Skopje).

BY RAILWAY

Main railroad is Bar - Belgrade, through the border crossing with Serbia.

BY SEA

Montenegro is connected with whole the world by the Adriatic Sea, through: Port of Bar, Port of Budva, Port of Kotor, Port of Zelenika (Herceg Novi), Port of Risan, Port of Tivat.. 

If you wish to shorten your journey from Tivat to Herceg-Novi, there is a ferry Kamenari-Lepetane
 

Landscape and cilmate

According to Hydrological and meterological service of Montenegro (http://www.meteo.co.me/   ) Montenegro is the country of natural rarities divided into three differentiated geographic regions (seaside, central region and high mountains at the north). There are three climate zones: moderate continental in the inland part, Alpine in the highlands and Adriatic- Mediterranean along the coastline with many warm and sunny days where an average temperature in January never drops below 7°C and is around 25°C in July.

The length of the coastline is 293,5km of which 52km are beaches. Montenegro's coastline includes long, sandy beaches, deep blue sea and dramatic mountain backdrop. The cities on the Montenegrin coast will definitely seduce you with their charm, diversity and the Mediterranean air. From Ulcinj (which used to be a pirate town but today represents a tourist haven), Bar (a town rich in historic monuments, with the new, modern city centre, port, marina and hotels), Budva (which represents the tourist metropolis of Montenegro, covering the area from Buljarica, through Petrovac and St. Stefan, all the way to Jaz beach), through Tivat (a beautiful, calm town), Kotor (protected by UNESCO as part of the world cultural heritage), up to Herceg Novi (an irresistible tourist town, rich in greenery, flowers, stairs and beautiful historic structures), each town tells a story of its own.
