Agreement on cooperation signed between the Institute for History of the University of Montenegro and the Association for the Balkan History

The Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro signed an Agreement on Cooperation with the Balkan History Association. The Balkan History Association (BHA) is a non-profit, apolitical and independent organization that aims to develop and promote interdisciplinary and comparative studies of the Balkan region and, in general, Southeast Europe, both nationally and internationally, and is registered in Romania.

The BHA's main areas of interest include, but are not limited to, various subdisciplines of history - political, cultural, military, economic, urban, literary, oral, or history of science and communication - art history, history of religions, and archaeology. One of the main activities is the publication of the academic magazine Hyperborea, which has existed since 2018, and since 2020 it has been printed by Press Pennsylvania State University. In addition to Hyperborea, they have been engaged in several editorial projects in publications with renowned world publishers.

The purpose of cooperation between our institutions is to achieve and promote scientific work in the study of the Western Balkans, from ancient to modern, history of law and state, history of art, study of culture and cultural heritage; deepening the understanding of the historical, cultural, political, economic and social environment in the Balkans; enabling the formation of a community of researchers specializing in the study of the region, as well as involvement in the formation and professional development of young scientists; creating a platform for collaboration between researchers and the general public, designed to facilitate peaceful dialogue between states in the field.
