LABORATORY FOR HEAT TREATMENT

Teaching staff: Prof. dr. Vanja Asanović

Laboratory Assistant: Stamenka Radović

In the Laboratory for Heat Treatment, students are trained in selecting the processes and parameters for heat treatment of metallic materials, as well as conducting experimental procedures and interpreting the obtained results. In order to successfully carry out a heat treatment process during laboratory exercises, each phase of the process is properly developed, prepared, executed, and controlled. A practical course in metal heat treatment, which includes theoretical and practical foundations, as well as a plan for conducting laboratory exercises, is available to students, and its application provides the prerequisites for independent work in the laboratory. Based on the specific phase transformations that occur during different types of heat treatment, students are trained to control the microstructure of heat-treated metallic materials in order to achieve the desired properties for practical use.

In the laboratory for heat treatment, processes such as annealing and quenching of various metallic materials are performed as part of final projects, specialized studies, masters theses, as well as for research purposes within scientific research projects and doctoral dissertations.
