Dr. Isidora Stanković wins prestigious Danube Young Scientist Award

This years recipient of the Danube Young Scientist Award is Dr. Isidora Stanković, a teaching associate at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro (UoM). She was honored for her outstanding scientific contributions, research, and academic achievements.

The award is presented by the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science, and Research and the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe to the best young scientists from all countries in the Danube region. Alongside our scientists success, 13 other young scientists from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine have achieved this recognition.

The Danube Young Scientist Award dates back to 2011 with the aim of honoring individuals with exceptional achievements in scientific work and results to enhance the visibility of the scientific community in the region.

Isidora Stanković was born in Podgorica, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She graduated from the University of Westminster in London and during her studies, she was on the Deans List of top students. As one of the best students at the Faculty of Science and Technology, she received an award for achievement and a bronze engineering medal as one of the top students in her final year. She completed her masters studies at Imperial College London and her doctoral studies at the University of Montenegro and the University of Grenoble in France, as a student of the joint diploma program of these two universities. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Stanković received the HERIC Excellence Award, funded by the Ministry of Science of Montenegro and the World Bank, for doctoral students at Montenegrin universities specializing in foreign countries. She also received a scholarship for doctoral studies from the Ministry of Science of Montenegro.

As an author or co-author, she has published 14 papers (published or accepted for publication) in reputable journals indexed on the SCI list, and as an author or co-author, she has published and presented 33 papers at international conferences. She has also published papers in nationally significant journals and a chapter in a book by the renowned CRC publisher. She has reviewed papers for several journals and conferences.
