International Conference: Legal Protection of the Environment
Montenegrin Academy of Science and Arts organizes a two day international conference named "Legal protection of the Environment", which will start on May 11th 2023 at 9:30 in facilities of MASA, Rista Stijovića 5, in Podgorica.
The opening speech will be held by academician Zoran P. Rašović, Minister of the Environment, spatial planning and urbanism Ana Novaković-Đurović.
Participants and speakers at the conference are respected experts from Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia, Germany and the United Kingdom. The focus of the discussion will be on legal means to achieve environmental protection, such as collective action, environmental damage insurance in the law and practice of the European Union, environmental protection through the rules of private international law and the obligation to protect it in international investment agreements. The topics that will be discussed are environmental justice and legal instruments for its protection, criminal law and civil law protection of the environment. Climate change and the protection of human rights, the European Green Plan, the role of standards that guide corporate policies in the system of responsibility for reducing emissions with the greenhouse effect, and the best practices of environmental protection will also be discussed.
