BIO-ICT representatives at the 3rd International Conference on Food and Agricultural Engineering

BIO-ICT researchers Ljubica Ivanović and Ivana Milašević participated at the 3rd International Conference on Food and Agricultural Engineering (ICFAE 2017) which was held from 10 until 12 May in Budapest, Hungary. ICFAE 2017 brings together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Food and Agricultural Engineering and Chemistry.

Two research papers “Evaluation of macroelements in swiss chard of Montenegrin origin produced under optimal conditions of growth” and “Microelements content of swiss chard derived from Montenegro” were presented by BIO-ICT researchers at the meeting. They highlighted the quality of Montenegrin swiss chard regarding macro- and microminerals that humans need to develop and function normally.

Since the conference brings together experts from food chemistry areas, our researchers had the opportunity to expand their knowledge in food engineering, food processing, and improvement of food quality and food safety. They exchanged experience with other participants regarding the assessment of minerals using Induction Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) techniques.
