Particularities of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology Require Practice in Laboratories and Companies

Particularity of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology at the University of Montenegro is a great part of practical teaching in laboratories, which does not give much space for online teaching, said Dalibor Doderovic, a representative of the students of this faculty.

The Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology has signed agreement with 13 enterprises and public companies on student internships, which should be implemented this semester and allow students in groups to be in facilities or laboratories of companies throughout the semester.

Doderovic says that practical, laboratory and field work are essential.

"My colleagues are informed via site, and as a student commissioner I also disseminate important information through social networks," Doderovic said.

Professors at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology are teaching in an extraordinary circumstance, caused by the global pandemic, to keep intensive electronic communication with students, via e-mail, websites and social networks, as well as through Zoom platform that enables virtual classrooms with multiple participants and materials on the Moodle platform. Doderovic believes that no online communication can replace live conversation.

In the circumstances of adhering to measures against the spread of the COVID 19 virus, students mostly miss socializing, sport events, common obligations.

He tells his colleagues: "Think positively, do not believe everything written in the media, and all this will all be bygone."
