At the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Montenegro, for enrollment in academy year 2021/22, 150 seats are planned. The Vice-Dean for Teaching at this Faculty assistant prof. Ilija Morić, PhD says that the interest in tourism and hotel studies is traditionally stable and with a tendency of slight growth, so it will not be surprising if the number of interested is higher than the number planned for enrollment.

“Although students have more enrollment deadlines at their disposal, it is still recommended that applications be submitted as early as the first deadline in order to “reserve their place in Montenegrin tourism in time. Free tuition, very good educational capacities of the Faculty, the attractiveness of the city of Kotor and large tourist investments throughout Montenegro are the main drivers of the growing interest of young people in tourism. In addition, it is a modern, attractive and dynamic vocation, whose importance can only grow in the future", thinks Morić.

He adds that, although we are in a period of tourism crisis, a recovery is already visible, which once again confirms the resilience of tourism to negative external factors.

“The study program Tourism and Hospitality provides a broad education with an adequate dose of practical knowledge in the field of tourism and hospitality, which opens the door in many (sub) areas of tourism such as hospitality, restaurants, travel agencies, cruising industry, MICE sector, event industry, tourism in protected areas, the SPA sector and a number of other jobs that are directly related to or affect modern tourism”, Morić said.

He especially points out that, during their studies, students have the opportunity to participate in mobility programs with foreign countries, practical training programs with business partners, numerous guest lectures by domestic and foreign experts, improve foreign language skills, gain new qualifications (e.g. tourist guide) and more.

“Thanks to the initiatives of the Career Center of the University of Montenegro, seasonal employment opportunities have been developed, which allows students additional income, but also the improvement of knowledge and skills in a practical way", concludes Moric.

Accessibility for enrollment at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality has: high school (general, mathematics, sports and philological high school), schools with specializations such as tourist technician, gastronomy, chef, RC chef, RC salesman, restaurateur, cooking technician, sales technician field of tourism, trade and catering), economic technician, legal-administrative technician (field of economics and law), nautical technician (field - traffic and communications), technician for forwarding, customs and transport organization, freight forwarding-customs and agency technician (Interdisciplinary field) .
