Day of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Nikšić Celebrated: About a Thousand Diplomas Obtained in 14 Years

Today, at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, a ceremony was organized on the occasion of June 5 - Faculty Day. The Faculty of Sports and Physical Education was established on June 5, 2008, although academic education in physical culture and sports has lasted for 75 years in Montenegro.

Dean of FSPE, Rashid Hadzic, PhD, welcoming the guests, reminded of the history of the faculty that emerged 14 years ago from the study program of the Faculty of Philosophy. During the time since it was an independent university unit, 972 students graduated from the faculty, of which 539 obtained basic, 371 specialist degrees, 48 ​​master's theses and 14 doctoral theses. Prof. Hadzic pointed out his pride that former students are in leading positions in reputable sports institutions and joy over the high degree of mobility of students and teachers in international academic exchange. Prof. Hadzic also reminded of the challenges that follow, namely the construction of a sports hall and the re-accreditation of study programs, which he believes will be successfully completed.

The Faculty of Sports and Physical Education is one of the 22 members of the University of Montenegro. President of the Committee of UMNE, Rajka Glušica, PhD said that the construction of the Faculty of Philology in Nikšić will begin soon, because that investment is part of this year's capital budget, and the construction of the hall of the Faculty of Sports is a candidate for the capital budget for 2023. Prof. Glušica hopes that the Dean, vice-dean and efficient management of the Faculty of Sports will be elected soon, who will lead this institution wisely and fairly for the good of all. The President of the Board of UCG also stated that the three university units of the state university with its headquarters in Nikšić are a huge capital for the future of the young generations.

In the continuation of the program marking the Day of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, Plaques were awarded to the deans of the partner faculties of the region, retired professors and Recognitions to students who have achieved special results in study programs.

According to the new, reformed program, all studies at FSFV are academic, at the basic three-year studies are majors - physical culture and healthy lifestyles, sports journalists and sports coaches, at the master's two-year - physical culture and healthy lifestyles, as well as sports, fitness and sports tourism, and doctoral studies are three years, in physical education.

At the beginning, the ceremony was embellished with song and youth by the students of the Music School "Dara Čokorilo" from Nikšić, which has existed since 1948, and started its high school education in the 2010/2011 school year. years, since when there is a choir. They performed the Anthem of Montenegro, the Student Anthem, and at the very end of today's ceremony, the Women's Choir (led by Prof. Valentina Jaredić) presented itself, which won 1st place or the Golden Cup at the national competition with a mix of songs from Montenegro.The celebration of the fourteenth anniversary was crowned by the desire of employees that the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Niksic successfully develops to meet the jubilee - a decade and a half of existence, that students achieve excellent results in learning and competitions, professors in international cooperation, to continue participating in academic exchanges and to publish in world scientific journals, including the development of domestic journals, which are highly ranked in the most prestigious scientific databases. Another enrollment deadline follows at the FSFV, during which they expect the best high school students and athletes to become students of the popular DIF.
