Workshop "Vernacular Architecture" held within the CLIO MAP project in Gornja Lastva

As part of the CLIO MAP project (work package IV), on March 8, 2022, in Gornja Lastva, in the House of Culture "Ilija Markovic", a workshop "Vernacular Architecture" was held.

The workshop was led by architects Aleksandra Kapetanović, MA (NGO Expeditio), associate on the CLIO MAP project, and Marija Nikolić (Cultural and Native Association Napredak). Members of the project working team participated in the workshop.

Aleksandra Kapetanović, MA, presented the state and protection of rural cultural heritage and vernacular architecture in Montenegro, the history of her research, the most important architectural ensemble. Marija Nikolić introduced the participants to the history and values ​​of Gornja Lastva and the cultural landscape of Vrmac, the work of the Cultural and Native Association Napredak on research, protection, and presentation of the village, through publishing, organizing workshops, cultural events, music concerts.

Workshop participants visited the village and visited the most important buildings, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1410, the olive mill in operation, private housing, "Memorial to the fallen fighters for freedom and socialism 1941-1945", ethnographic collection of Anđelko Stjepčević et al.
