Within the experimental exercises conducted in the Laboratory for Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, students acquire practical knowledge about thermodynamic state functions of systems, spontaneity of process flow and factors influencing it, transport phenomena in open and closed systems, properties of matter in different states of aggregation, properties of electrolyte solutions and processes within them, properties of colloidal systems, equilibrium and kinetics of chemical and electrochemical processes, intermolecular and interionic interactions, and electrochemical sources of current. In the laboratory, students also acquire skills in measuring basic physicochemical quantities: density, viscosity, vapor pressure, surface tension, molecular weight, conductivity, refractive index, absorption coefficient, electromotive force. They also learn how to properly present and interpret the results of physicochemical experiments. For successful preparation and implementation of exercises, students have access to laboratories, exercise collections, and scripts, as well as assistance in experiment preparation and result interpretation from the teaching staff and laboratory assistant.

The laboratory also conducts research within doctoral dissertations, masters theses, and final papers.
