Agreement on cooperation with the Parliament of Montenegro

In order to strengthen the overall inter-institutional relations, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Parliament of Montenegro and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro - the oldest scientific research institution in Montenegro. The agreement is the result of the initiative of the Library and Documentation Center of the Assembly that foreign signatories exchange certain publications, and the purpose of the cooperation that has become official in this way is to enrich the library funds of these two institutions. By the agreement, the Assembly undertook to submit phonographic records from the Assembly sessions to the Historical Institute, whereby the Institute responded with new editions of the magazine "Historical Records".

Considering that the fund of the Library of the Parliament of Montenegro contains all issues of the said magazine from 1948 to 2019, in this way continuity in providing new editions is ensured, and thus providing users of the Library with all issues, ie sets of magazines. The importance and usefulness of owning the journal "Historical Records" in the Library of the Assembly, as a special closed library, is recognized through their content that processes, examines and analyzes the emergence, development and perspective of social, political and other phenomena and relations in Montenegro, Balkans , Europe, as well as the wider global space, comparing the actions of various actors, processes and events. On the other hand, the minutes from the sessions of the Assembly represent a valuable and useful source of information, especially in the field of scientific research in the analysis of various events, personalities and processes related to the social and political life of Montenegro.

In this way, the mutual benefit, value and aspiration for the development of overall mutual relations and thus the contribution of both institutions to the adequate preservation of the testimony of numerous social, political and other events and relations in the history of Montenegro, ie their further study, analysis and evaluation.

As part of the first handover in accordance with the Agreement, in addition to new issues of the journal "Historical Records", the Historical Institute has enriched the Library of the Assembly with sophisticated and quality new products of its publishing activities, books: "Montenegro in the American Press" and "Montenegrin Artillery in the XX century ”. At the same time, the Parliament of Montenegro enriched the content of the Library of the Institute with 36 volumes of phonographic records from the sessions of the Parliament of Montenegro in 2019 and 2020.
