Book by Dr. Olga Pelcer-Vujačić

Research associate Dr. Olga Pelcer-Vujačić prepared a book entitled Studia epigraphica et militaria. In memoriam Miroslava Mirković in the edition Corpus inscriptionum Latinarum Auctarium Series New vol. 8, published by De Gruyter, together with the co-authors of prof. Dr. Marietta Horster (University of Mainz, Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences) and prof. Dr. Snežana Ferjančić (University of Belgrade).

The interaction and coexistence of military and civilian environments are of great interest for the provinces on the Adriatic and north of the Alps, especially as border areas of the Roman Empire. The book offers exceptional historical, epigraphic and archaeological studies on, among other things, the movement of troops, military facilities and their structural development, the performance and engagement of military and administrative personnel and their families, the presence of veterans in settlements and their possible impact on urban development, for example the dedication of the center in Rome in these areas, but also infrastructural measures on the spot. In addition, some previously unpublished inscriptions are presented and new readings are given. The publication is dedicated to the author of CIL Miroslava Mirković (1933-2020) and follows her research priorities, including epigraphic research of Municipium S near Pljevlja in Montenegro.
