The immediate goal of the subject is to learn the forms and styles of different eras, and especially individual creative contributions, study sources, the relationship of art to the political, economic and social context - thus, a complex knowledge of different phenomena from musical life and their mutual relationship. The aim of the lessons is also for students to learn and acquire the habit of self-education and to develop the basis of musical-historical critical thinking in the areas of musical expression, production, reproduction.
