Realized outgoing ERASMUS+ mobility at Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey

With the kind support of the Office for international cooperation of the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor, as part of the ERASMUS Plus Staff Mobility for Teaching program, kindly invited by Dr Hakan Oniz, representative of the Laboratory for Maritime Archaeology, Darko Kovačević visited the Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey. During the visit the lectures and a workshop were delivered at the Department of Mediterranean Underwater Cultural Heritage and at the Institute of Mediterranean Civilizations Research. Mobility was realized from May 16 to 26, 2023.

A representative of the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor took part in the International Underwater Days event in Kemer, during which he presented the underwater cultural heritage of Montenegro, the activities of the Laboratory of Maritime Archeology, the results of the WRECKS4ALL project and the vision of the development of this research unit of the University of Montenegro at various meetings.

The lectures on the use of immersive technologies for the popularization of underwater cultural heritage and the development of related system mechanisms, as well as how the integration of underwater cultural heritage into the tourist offer led to the establishment of a research unit at the University of Montenegro were delivered to students. During the photogrammetry workshop, experiences and knowledge in the use of 3D photogrammetry and its integration with platforms for virtual and augmented reality were exchanged with colleagues and students of Akdeniz University.

Prof. Dr Hakan Oniz and colleagues from Akdeniz University strongly supported the development and efforts of the University of Montenegro to further build capacities for underwater archaeological research. The mobility was used to set the framework and directions for further cooperation and development of joint projects.
