After passing this exam, the student will be able to: - Explain the political processes and events of contemporary general history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, - Evaluate the significance of the French revolution and the Napoleonic wars for the socio-political development of the European countries in the first half of the nineteenth century, - Analyze the characteristics of imperialism (the colonial conquest of the great powers, international crises and wars of the mid-nineteenth century to 1919) - Evaluate the significance of Socialism, Fascism and Nazism as socio-political and ideological systems in the twentieth century, - Explain and evaluate the significance of the World War II and the Cold War in the context of international relations in Europe and worldwide.
