Others are writing about us: A masters student from Croatia shares their experience at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

My name is Filip Martinović, and I come from Zagreb. I spent a semester at the University of Montenegro. In Zagreb, I study at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. During my stay in Montenegro, I attended masters program courses at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (PMF) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ETF). I took classes from various fields, but my focus was on the area of data science.

I chose this mobility program because I have always been fascinated by Montenegro in the past, and this was a great way to return and spend more time there. Additionally, I met many friends who live there, and I was happy to see them again. Furthermore, due to the similarities in language, culture... I knew that I wouldnt have any problems fitting in.

I would recommend mobility at UCG to everyone because it has excellent professors and students who are always ready to help. Its easy to integrate into the student community. Students are very welcoming to foreign students. In Podgorica, there is an organization called ESN that supports foreign students coming to UCG. Through them, I met other foreign students in Podgorica, went on trips, and made new acquaintances.

Personally, I didnt experience a significant cultural shock since I come from a neighboring country. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful weather. People are relaxed, and life moves slower than in my city. Thats one of the things I really liked.

I would recommend going on mobility at UCG to anyone eager for new experiences, good people, and stunning nature. My stay in Montenegro exceeded all expectations, and I am sure I will come back again.
