At the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Great Interest in Free Master Studies Expected
At the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Montenegro, great interest in free two-year master studiesis expected, according to the reformed 3 + 2 model, in accordance with the interests and questions of final year students.
Vice-Dean for Teaching at this faculty Assistant Professor, Miljan Bigović, PhD, states that, according to the 2017 accreditation, aligned with the new study model, competitions will be announced for six study programs.
"Among them are Mathematics (10 places), Mathematics and Computer Science (10 places), Computer Science (20 places), Computer Science and Information Technology (10 places), Physics (10 places) and Biology (20 places)," Vice-Dean Bigović said.
He adds that topic of the next session of the Council of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics will be adoption of the proposal for the number of students who would be enrolled in master studies according to the new, but also the old study system.
"Students are entitled to complete their studies according to the curriculum they enrolled (we are talking about the 3 + 1 + 1 model) and if they do not decide to adapt to the new curriculum, classes will be organized according to the modelwhich they enrolled." Bigovic pointed out.
The adopted decision of the Council of the Faculty of Science will be sent to the Senate of the University of Montenegro for further decision-making. In addition, he notes that the two-year master's studies are budget-based and that they will require an admission exam, while studies according to the 3 + 1 + 1 system are self-financing.
"In one-year master's studies, we are announcing a competition for seven study programs: Mathematics (10 vacancies), Mathematics and Computer Science (10 vacancies), Computer Science (20 vacancies), Physics (10 vacancies), Biology-Ecology (10 vacancies), Experimental biology (10 vacancies) and Environmental Protection (10 vacancies). This was the situation in previous study years ",Bigović said.
