Prince Nikola Petrović Njegoš Visited the Biotechnical Faculty: Initiative for Preservation of Endemic Bees in Montenegro

At the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro, a meeting was held on the occasion of the initiative of His Excellency Prince Nikola Petrović - Njegoš to open a conservatory for the preservation of genetic resources in beekeeping in Montenegro.

 

Prince Nikola Petrović expressed eagerness of the "Petrović Njegoš" Foundation to provide expert and technical assistance in the implementation of the project "Conservatory for the Preservation of Montenegrin Bees", the valorization of bee products and the improvement of the beekeeping sector in Montenegro.

 

The meeting was attended by H.E. prince Nikola Petrović Njegoš, in front of the Foundation Ivana Noveljić and distinguished experts from France, Serge Jankin and Bruno Delannoy, who spoke about the importance of this project for the protection and preservation of endemic bees in Montenegro and the activities that would be undertaken during the implementation of the project. In addition to the members of the Foundation, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, State Secretary Budimir Mugoša and Ranko Bogavac, Head of the Animal Husbandry Directorate, as well as Professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology Dr. Vučeta Jaćimović and young associates were also present at the meeting.

 

The distinguished guests were greeted by the vice-dean for science and international cooperation, Sanja Radonjić, PhD, introduced them to the history and activities of the Faculty of Biotechnology and thanked them for the initiative to hold todays meeting and the opportunity to establish cooperation with the "Petrović Njegoš" Foundation.
