We invite bachelor, master and PhD students studying mathematics or teaching at any University whose seat is in a Western Balcan country and interested in continuing careers in the education of mathematics and science popularisation to apply for participation in Summer School for the Future (STE)M Leaders. Summer School aims to provide students with training in creating STEM content with an emphasis on mathematics and soft skills necessary for the successful organisation of science popularisation events and to promote friendly relations and collaboration among students from Western Balkan countries. Mathematics and STEM subjects are essential for securing economic growth, but the industry and the government sector must recognise the importance of teachers roles in society.   Summer School is also training the next generation of teachers to lead this change. The school will be jointly organised by the University of Montenegro, the Mathematical Institute SANU, the University of East Sarajevo, Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, the University of Vlora and the University of Mostar under the auspices and financial support of the Western Balkan Fund. 

Five days of Summer School will be held in the fall of 2023 in Montenegro, with tentative dates in the last week of September or the beginning of October, depending on the availability of the hotels at the seaside. All lectures, workshops, round tables and other activities will be in English, so working knowledge of the language is assumed. The applicants should upload their curriculum vitae and the motivation letter in the form, which the Organization Committee will evaluate and select the student participants. The offered applicants will be provided full board accommodation, tuition fees and teaching materials.
