After passing this exam, the student will be able to: Understand the basic elements of music theory (notes, rests, clefs, accidentals, key signatures, scales, intervals, chords, dynamics, tempo, articulation). Analyze and practically apply notes by pitch and duration through solfeggio exercises. Recognize basic elements of musical forms (motif, two-part form, theme, phrase, period, binary and ternary form, figures, passage, polyphony and its forms, sonata and sonata form, symphony, distinguish between aria and solo song, vocal, instrumental, and vocal-instrumental music, program music). Distinguish instruments and ensembles by sound and appearance (string, wind, percussion, and keyboard instruments). Describe musical styles and distinguish their representatives (Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, Impressionism). Recognize genres by listening to works by famous composers (Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Verdi, Brahms, Tchaikovsky).
