Learning outcomes:
Upon completion of the study programme/the students will be able to:
- Control, supervise, maintain and efficiently manage the work of the ship propulsion systems (marine diesel engines, marine steam and gas turbines and ship steam boilers) and auxiliary engines and equipment;
- Control and operate the work of marine engine and electrical systems and equipment, discover and eliminate reasons of any technical failure;
- Plan and implement plans of the preventive maintenance and recording of technical documentation;
- Plan and apply measures of safety protection at work;
- Know and use the specific maritime-related terminology in the English language,
- Interpret and critically evaluate elements of maritime and legal regulations with the aim of protecting life at sea and marine environmental protection;
- Maintain safety of the ship, crew and passengers and conduct measures of saving lives at sea, firefighting protection and other safety system, plan and manage emergency situations and damage situations;
- Run and manage ship’s crew.
