The University of Montenegro has been a promoter of the development of the Montenegrin state and society for half a century. With the founders’ vision of Montenegro developing as a modern society where words, intellect, and wisdom have always been woven into all works, the contemporary University of Montenegro enters the new decade with the slogan FuturUM.
The slogan connects the concept of the future, with the Latin word "futurum," and the term "um," which in our case is ambiguous – it symbolizes knowledge and intelligence and is also the abbreviation of the Universitys name in English, "UM."
This combination of words and symbols makes FuturUM an emblem of hope and prosperity, where knowledge and wisdom intertwine, and the University of Montenegro remains a key source of sustainable, innovative, and community-oriented education.
The key visual symbol of the jubilee is the Roman numeral L, which marks 50 years of the University. The slogan FuturUM and the logo constitute a complete semantic and symbolic entity. Hence, the slogan FuturUM should be read as a reminder of the emblem of hope and prosperity (futur), composed of knowledge and wisdom (um), with the Montenegrin institutional reference being the University of Montenegro (UM).
The story of FuturUM is not only in words and symbols; it is a call to journey through time, through the acquisition of knowledge and the building of hope, where every detail symbolizes 50 successful years of the University of Montenegro.
