Creative workshop for all lovers of Chinese language and culture at the Youth and Cultural Center "Tibor"
The year 2024 began in the sign of the dragon for the participants of the language course as well as other lovers of the Chinese language and culture in Nikšić.
Namely, with the support of the Confucius Institute and under the mentorship of local lecturer Milijana Božović, Chinese language and culture workshops are held every weekend starting in February at the "Tibor" Youth Cultural Center in Nikšić. During the previous workshops, participants of the HSK course from Elementary School "Olga Golović" as well as other interested citizens of Nikšić, had the opportunity to celebrate the Chinese New Year in a cheerful atmosphere, as well as to learn about various aspects of the rich Chinese culture. Workshop participants listened to stories on the topic of Chinese New Year and learned about various customs related to this important holiday. They tried their hand at making puppets and dragon masks and writing Chinese characters for good luck in calligraphy. They also participated in painting tangerines as a symbol of abundance through an interesting shower technique. They also tried their hand at the Chinese art of paper cutting, and there was also space for some of the participants of our language course to give presentations or perform on those topics from Chinese culture that they themselves are interested in. Thus, all those present enjoyed the musical performance of the student Alisa Bogdanović, who also performed the traditional ceremony of serving tea. Students Matea Radović and Zoja Mitrović talked about traditional Hanfu clothing and organized an activity of making clothing models out of paper, while student Balsa Perovic held a presentation on the topic of Chinese chess, in which the attendees could try on after learning the rules.
On the last weekend in February, workshop participants will be able to enjoy activities related to the celebration of the Lantern Festival. We hope that such events will become regular in Nikšić as well, so that as many interested citizens as possible will have the opportunity to come into contact with the rich Chinese language and culture.
