Within the framework of the Ulysseus project, on March 12 2024, the first meeting with work package representatives of the University of Montenegro was held. The meeting was opened by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Prof. Sanja Peković, and the Ulysseus Project Manager at the University of Montenegro, Branka Žižić.

The aim of the meeting was to gain insight into the activities underway within all work packages, contribute to mutual synergy of activities, as well as to identify possible problems and proactively act towards the efficient progress of the project. The discussion focused on ways to more intensively involve students and staff in Ulysseus activities, with the general conclusion being the consistent implementation of an open-door policy for the project.

As one of the main tasks of Ulysseus is to create a unique academic offer through joint bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs, as well as online and blended courses on topics that are priorities for Ulysseus, it is necessary to fulfill the prerequisites for automatic recognition of qualifications, credit mobility, and recognition of prior learning and work experience within the partnership as soon as possible. To this end, work will be needed to harmonize both legal and institutional frameworks, which will be initiated as soon as possible.

The University of Montenegro became a full member of the Ulysseus network of European universities last year, whose aim is to connect the most prestigious institutions of higher education in Europe to jointly overcome todays greatest challenges. The program of this project offers a wide range of opportunities for training and exchange to students, professors, researchers, and non-academic staff.
The universities that are part of this alliance, alongside the University of Montenegro, include: the University of Seville, the University of Genoa, the University of Côte dAzur, the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, the Technical University of Košice, the University of Münster, and the MCI Entrepreneurial school Innsbruck (MCI).
