Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology
The studies of Metallurgy began in 1973/74 as a department of the Technical Faculty. In the academic year 1990/91, studies of Non-organic Technology started work within the Faculty of Metallurgy whereby it grew into the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology.
Today the Faculty represents a modernly conceived unit which independently organizes fundamental, applied and development research.
Within its teaching activity, the Faculty realizes academic undergraduate, specialist, postgraduate and doctoral studies, applied undergraduate studies and other forms of professional development.
The Faculty cherishes scientific-research and professional cooperation with numerous companies and institutes of related programme orientation.
The Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology includes the following study groups:
- Academic study group Metallurgy
- Academic study group Chemical Technology
- Applied study group Environment Protection
All three programmes are organized as undergraduate three year studies after which the title of a bachelor is obtained. Academic study groups are organized in the form of postgraduate specialist (one year), or master (one year) studies. Applied study group Environment Protection in the form of postgraduate one year studies, since the academic year 2008/2009, makes it possible for students to obtain the title of a specialist of applied postgraduate studies.
