University Units
- Faculty of Philosophy-
The Faculty of Philosophy in Niksic
is rooted in several decades long tradition
of higher education in Montenegro, and
its beginning is related to the establishment
of the first college in the Republic,
the establishment of Training College
in Cetinje in 1947, at which teachers
were educated for primary schools, and
which operated under the name Training
Academy in Niksic since 1963. In 1977
it was transformed into the Pedagogical
Training Faculty which in 1988, in accordance
with Rationalization Programme
of Higher Education and Research Work
was renamed the Faculty of Philosophy.
The Faculty of Philosophy in Niksic
represents a complex educational and
scientific institution which organizes
undergraduate, specialist and postgraduate
studies as well as doctoral studies
within its main activities.
Undergraduate Studies
Undergraduate studies at the Faculty
of Philosophy are organized and carried
out at the following departments:
- Department for Serbian Language and
Literature
- Department for English Language and
Literature
- Department for Italian Language and
Literature
- Department for Russian Language and
Literature
- Department for Philosophy and So ciology
- Course of Studies in Sociology
- Course of Studies in Philosophy
- Department for History and Geo gra phy
- Department for Peda gogical Studies
- Department for Physical Culture
- Department for Pre-School Edu cation.
Students who study foreign languages
can also choose French as the second foreign
language.
Undergraduate studies are organized
on the basis of four year curricula and
programmes for all courses of studies
except for the Department for Pre-school
education with two year studies.
Postgraduate Studies
Postgraduate studies at the Faculty of
Philosophy are organized at the following
departments:
- Department for Serbian Language and
Literature
- Department for the Study of Language
- Department for the Study of Literature
- Department for Sociology.
