Biography

Prof dr Bogdan Ašanin

He was born in Montenegro in 1952. He studied and graduated Medical Faculty in Belgrade in 1975. He specialized  neurosurgery at the Clinic of Neurosurgery, Medical Faculty in Belgrade and finished at 1984. He had finished PhD degree in 1997 at the Medical Faculty in Belgrade.

An author or co-author he is in more than 120 papers presented at national and international conferences, printed in national and international journals and proceedings. He participated at the World Congresses of neurosurgeons in Sydney (Australia), Marrakech (Morocco), the European Congress of neurosurgeons in Lisbon (Portugal ), the European Congress of neurologists in Madrid (Spain) and Florence (Italy) and all national organized the Congress of neurosurgeons from 1984 to 2009, and many others of lesser importance.

He was chief of neurosurgery departments KBC Montenegro in Podgorica from 21.02.1997. to 16.11.2000. and the assistant director for medical issues (medical director) KBC Montenegro in Podgorica 1998/1999 year.

He became full professor at the University of Montenegro in 2010.

He was Vice-dean for education at the School of Medicine for two terms from 2002 to 2007 and then Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for two terms from 2007 until 2013. In the course of the mandate has made a significant contribution to the educational, scientific (the formation of scientific research laboratory) and international development and cooperation of the Faculty of Medicine. He was a member of the Council for Higher Education of the Government of Montenegro from 2004 - 2009.

He is a member of the Senate of the University of Montenegro from 2007 to 2016. He is a member of the Committee for Medical Research CANU. (Montenegrin Academy for Science and Art)

He participated in several international symposia and seminars in connection with the reform of the teaching and application of the Bologna Declaration: Gratz (Austria), Zagreb (Croatia), Rome (Italy), Bon (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), Aarhus (Denmark) and all which were organized at the University of Montenegro in the last 15 years.

He participated in several national and international projects either as a manager or researcher.

He was on professional training at the Neurosurgical Clinic Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford, England-2001 year and several times at the Institute of Neurosurgery in Belgrade.

Since 2009, he is the President of the Commission for registration of medicines of the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of Montenegro.

He speaks English and Russian language.
