Biography - Bogojević Dragan

Dragan Bogojević was born on July 1st 1965 in Belgrade.  He finished his elementary and secondary education in Podgorica. Having graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philology – Department of French Language and Literature on October 17th 1989, he enrolled postgraduate studies at the François Rabelais University in Tours, France, in 1999. On September 24th 2001 he obtained his M.A. having defended the thesis entitled: Le Monténégro entre le mythe et la réalité dans les ouvrages de Vialla de Sommières et de Mario Sermet (Montenegro between myth and reality in the works of Vialla de Sommières and Mario Sermet). He defended a doctoral dissertation on L’imaginaire du Monténégro dans la literature de voyage au XIXème siècle et au début du XXème siècle (Fiction and reality of Montenegro in the travel literature in the 19th and early 20th century) on December 9th 2005.

 

Mr. Bogojević worked as a French language and literature teacher in secondary schools Sergije Stanić in Podgorica, Danilo Kiš in Budva as well as at the Institute of Foreign Languages in Podgorica. He taught national culture, history and language to the children of migrant workers in Paris (1997-1999). He was an educational inspector in the area of the French language from 1999 to 2003. He has organized approximately twenty seminars for the elementary and secondary school French teachers. He played a significant part in founding the Association of French Language Professors, being its Honorary President. In addition, he partook in establishing the Department of French Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, being engaged as a lecturer from the very beginning.

 

He has been involved in the development of a reformed concept of pre-university education by actively participating in numerous seminars, workshops, conferences, by presiding and organizing the work of the Primary School and High School French Curriculum Committee. He is also a member of the Secondary School Curriculum Reform Committee. For four years he was a test writer/an examiner and the President of the National Examination Commission for the French Language.  

 

Mr. Bogojević was a representative of Montenegro in the Supervisory Committee of the Council of Europe and a national coordinator in one of the most important projects of the Council of Europe - European Language Portfolio (participated in the seminars in Turin, Istanbul and Moscow). As a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science, in collaboration with the British Council, he organized an international conference on European Language portfolio in Podgorica. In collaboration with a team of translators, he organized and translated the first version of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: studying, teaching, assessment, promoted by the Council of Europe, in the Serbo-Croatian speaking countries.

 

In 2004, being an editor-in-chief of the educational programme in RTCG, he initiated and devised the new programme content.

 

From 2004 to 2009 Mr. Bogojević served as Director of the Bureau for Education Services. Simultaneously, he taught at the Department of French Language and Literature, where he used his best endeavours to develop professional and competent capacities within the institution he ran.

 

He has published about forty scientific papers in the national and international journals, participated in numerous conferences and seminars in the country and abroad, as well as in the Tempus project promoted by the University of Montenegro. He is also a member of the Board of Education of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, has reviewed numerous texts in French. Additionally, he has written several publications and his monograph was published by a renowned publishing house in France.

 

He has been actively engaged in literary translation (a libretto for the opera Montenegrins, Collection of Poems by T. Srdanović from French). He has also been working as a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter (19 seminars, from February to December 2011, and within the support project to the implementation of the new Code on Criminal Procedure). On December 27th 2012 he was appointed Associate Professor at the University of Montenegro for the following courses: Overview of French literature - Classicism, Overview of French literature in XVIII century, French civilization I and II, Cultural Relations between France and Montenegro at the Faculty of Philology (Bulletin n. 293; Decision on the appointment, no: 08-24447).

 

Mr. Bogojević was Dean of the Faculty of Philology since its foundation, i.e. since October 2015, till March 2019.
