The Real Startup Team can be as Successful as Instagram

A presentation of the handbook “How to launch a startup from Montenegro” written by Drazen Zujovic and panel discussions gathered today Montenegrin startup community, mentors, students and representatives of the competent institutions and international organizations.

“I am sure that Drazen Zujovic will remind you of the period when Google, Facebook and Instagram were only startups. “-said Fiona McCluney, UNDP Resident Representative. She emphasized the importance of the business which can be solution for high unemployment youth rate. This rate is over 35% in Montenegro.

“You can launch a startup, regardless of your occupation, and you can offer all modern services required in the labour market or you can create new ones”- she said. McCluney mentioned the startup projects of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering named BeeAnd.me which combines innovative technology and work positions.

The Ministry of Science activates the startups through collaboration with public, private and academic departments that help new ones: BIO-ICT – Center of Excellence, launching of entrepreneunial center Tehnopolis and establishment of science and technology center in the campus of the University of Montenegro- said Darko Petrusic PhD, a director of research of the Ministry of Science.

“We live in a digital world and we have to take advantage of it. The internet is available to everyone, not only to the programmers.”-said Zujovic.” An enterpriser is every person that wants to change the world around themselves, and a startup is a technological business which has potential of fast growth and a long reach”- said Zujovic and mentioned an example of Serbia which exports more software than corns and raspberries and makes more than billion euros.

He recommended students to launch their startup communities at the faculties because the exchange of ideas and leadership is fundamental for realization of any idea.  The team and good realization are more important than an idea.

As a good example of a startup he mentioned Istangram. In the beginning there were three employees for the first 1000 users, and after that there were five employees for one million of users which only confirms the advantages of new technology.
