-Emphasize the importance, role and objectives of breeding of fruit trees; -Define the genetic variability and sources of variability; -Indication of breeding methods and concepts of choice of parental pairs; -Explain the mode of inheritance of the most important agronomic traits and the interaction of cultivar (genotype) and the external environment in fruit production; -Distinguish the specificities of different breeding of continental fruit species; -Describe the importance of application of modern biotechnological methods in breeding and their importance for the promotion of fruit growing.
