After completing one semester course in Periodontology II, dental student should achieve the following outcomes: 1.Has communication skills with the patient and the medical staff. 2.He/she is competent to take independently all the relevant anamnestic data of the patient, determine the level of oral hygiene and periodontal conditions (by the corresponding indexes), and to define the diagnosis of periodontal disease and suggest the plan of the therapeutic measures. 3. Knows the indications and contraindications for the application of the basic surgical therapeutic interventions for the elimination of periodontal pockets and correction of mucogingival anomalies 4.Determines the traumatic occlusion and applies methods of its elimination (teeth grinding). 5.Identifies etiologic diagnosis of consecutive disease and the teatment plan for the removal of oral focus. 6.Defines a treatment plan for the establishment of the favorable occlusal relations using the other methods (prosthetic, restorative, surgical, orthodontic) and applies the maintance phase of the achieved therapeutic results.
