Faculty of Applied Physiotherapy
High School of Physiotherapy in Igalo was founded in 1976 as a two year post-secondary school.
In compliance with the new Law on Higher Education, the Post-secondary School of Physiotherapy was transformed into a Higher School of Physiotherapy in 2004 and one year later was renamed the Faculty of Applied Physiotherapy as an organizational unit of the University of Montenegro.
The mission of the faculty as an educational unit is to educate through its teaching content, application of modern educational methods and through research process high quality experts in the area of physiotherapy, able to assist through their creative work the development of their country and the region.
The Faculty in Igalo organizes UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES OF APPLIED PHYSIOTHERAPY AND POSTGRADUATE SPECIALIST STUDIES. The curriculum is designed in compliance with the Bologna Declaration principles and the European Credit Transfer System.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES last three years (180 credits), and POSTGRADUATE SPECIALIST STUDIES one year (60 credits).
The study programmes of applied physiotherapy are conceived at the level of modern knowledge in physiotherapy science and the modern world standards of physiotherapy profession, which, among other, imply physiotherapeutic assessment, diagnosis, planning, treatment and evaluation, all in line with the new tendencies in the area of education of physiotherapists.
