OSNOVE PREVOĐENJA 1

Having passed this course, the students will be able to: 1. Use various methods and strategies in order to successfully translate texts that belong to different literary genres, both from and into English; 2. Apply basic knowledge of the translation theory, in particular when it comes literary translation theories; 3. Analyse, compare and discuss their own translations and those published by others in an informed manner; 4. Translate older texts and classic literature; 5. Translate childrens literature and various fictional as well theoretical texts, recognizing their style and register and rendering them adequately into the target language.
