After passing the exam, the student will be able to: 1. analyze the features of the modern English language through the prism of its development from the Middle Ages to the present day; 2. recognize the historical changes occurring at the phonological, morphological, syntactic and lexical levels in English, from the Middle Ages to the present day; 3. critically analyze the connections and influence of other languages on the English language from the Middle Ages to the present day.
