After completing the course and passing the exam, the student will be able to: 1. Explain the basic morphological phenomena related to the development of the Italian nouns, pronouns, verbs and adjectives. 2. Distinguish the basic similarities and differences between Latin and Italian language systems. 3. Apply acquired knowledge of phonetics and morphology in the analysis of literary texts from earlier phases of development of the Italian language.
