ISTORIJA NJEMAČKE KULTURE II

After comleting this course student should be able to: 1. describe phenomenon in development of civilization and culture of countries of German-speaking area from 18th century to today: Weimar Classicism, idealism, romantic historicism, national unification, industrialisation, rise and fall of the civic epoch, First and Second World Wars, nazism, fascism and antisemitism, divided nation, terrorism, fall of the Berlin Wall, pop culture. 2. know most important epochs, people, institutions and their contribution to development of unique German culture having in mind social-political context, history of literature, fine arts, philosophy, music and science. 3. understand relations between historical and cultural phenomenon and see simultaneity of elements of their development. 4. notice relations between cultural phenomenon of past and current social- historical development. 5. build positive attitude to ethical and aesthetic values of German culture.
