After the student passes this exam, he/she will be able to: 1. compare learning and teaching methods in foreign language teaching throughout history 2. differentiate between the ways of teaching receptive and productive language skills: listening with comprehension, speaking, writing and reading with a diverse typology of exercises, as well as with styles/types of reading 3. explain the ways of evaluating and self-evaluating the students knowledge and abilities 4. apply techniques for explaining words in German language teaching 5. know the key concepts on which modern foreign language teaching is based
