Information System of the University of Montenegro Attacked by Hackers

In previous days, the Information System of the University of Montenegro was hit by strong DDoS attacks by hackers from abroad who aimed to slow down the system and put it out of operation.

The Center for Information Systems of the University of Montenegro identified all the attacks, where in previous days, most of detected IP addresses went from St. Petersburg, for the longest time. The complete list was forwarded to the National CIRT team of the Government of Montenegro, for further procedure.

The Center of Information System eliminated the problem caused by this continuous attack as promptly as possible.

We remind you that in the previous year there were several types of hacker attacks, the largest was cloning of the UMNE site, which aimed at identity theft, two large phishing attacks with false representation via e-mail, which also aimed at identity theft users, about which the public was informed in the previous period, as well as a large spam attack generated by the mail server of the Faculty of Science of UMNE, according to the mail server of the University.

The Information System Center of the University of Montenegro will continue to work on security of the academic network and data safety of all users.
