Rector Božović and Mayor Raičević discuss models of cooperation between the University of Montenegro and the Municipality of Bar
The Rector of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Bar, Dušan Raičević, along with their closest associates, met at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro to discuss forms of cooperation aimed at enhancing the prosperity of the local and academic community.
Rector Božović presented the intensive activities of the oldest higher education institution in its jubilee year, celebrated under the motto "Beacon of the Future." He mentioned that a series of scientific, cultural, and artistic programs are being organized across all organizational units, through which faculties, institutes, and student organizations are considering visions of prosperity, innovation, and cultural enrichment for the community.
Drawing on positive experiences from past cooperation with the Municipality of Bar, Rector Božović added that he believes a mutually beneficial model of cooperation will be found, potentially leveraging the scientific and tourism potential of the area.
Mayor Raičević stated that it is important for the Municipality of Bar to have the support of the University of Montenegro in implementing infrastructure projects that will not only make Bar an attractive tourist destination and develop its tourism potential but also enhance its capabilities in transportation, energy, agriculture, and connectivity.
He emphasized the need to channel and valorize the existing communication, desire, decision, and commitment to joint cooperation adequately, so that the city, or rather the scientific and local community, become the primary beneficiaries of this collaboration.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to define and formalize the cooperation model and a shared belief that collaboration based on mutual respect and common goals will bring new opportunities for growth and prosperity to these communities.
Participants in the meeting included the Director of the Sector for Legal, Personnel, General Affairs, and Property Management at the Rectorate of UCG, Vladimir Miličković; the General Secretary of UCG, Neda Vuksanović; and UCGs Economic Advisor, Marina Banović. Representing the Municipality of Bar were the Deputy Mayor, Damir Rašketić; the Secretary of the Secretariat for Investments, Stefan Šušter; and his associate, Aleksandar Glavanović.
