Defense Minister Dragan Krapović, along with a delegation, met with the Rector of the University of Montenegro (UCG), Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, at the UCG Rectorate, where they discussed the key aspects of cooperation between these two institutions and the possibilities for its enhancement. The attendees expressed satisfaction with the current joint efforts, both through the participation of representatives from the University of Montenegro in the work of the Interdepartmental Working Group for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 – Women, Peace, and Security, and through the realization of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Maritime Faculty Kotor and the Ministry of Defense, thanks to which students from the study programs "Nautics and Maritime Traffic", "Marine Engineering", and "Maritime Electrotechnics" have organized practical exercises on the training ship "Jadran" and other available vessels of the Montenegrin Navy.

The Minister of Defense highlighted that the University of Montenegro, as a unique educational institution in the country, is an important partner in the application of Resolution 1325 and welcomed the idea of organizing a panel discussion "The Importance of Womens Participation in Peacebuilding and Security", which is planned in the Action Plan for the implementation of this resolution. Such a panel, as an excellent example of interdepartmental cooperation, will contribute to the promotion of this significant topic, especially in light of the current security challenges and the role of women in them.

The meeting also discussed possibilities for cooperation with other units of the University. A proposed collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, study program "Quality and Standardization", whose expertise could greatly contribute to the drafting of the Quality Assurance Regulation, which - once the prerequisites are met with the adoption of amendments to the Defense Law - would more precisely define the manner of performing quality assurance tasks in the field of defense. Recognizing the dynamics of global trends and identifying artificial intelligence as a mechanism that can contribute to enhancing operational efficiency in missions by predicting and identifying threats, the Minister of Defense noted that there is room for cooperation in this domain with the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Both sides expressed readiness to enhance cooperation in scientific research projects and study programs in the fields of "Security and Defense".
