Celebrating National Library Awareness Day
The Central University Library (CUL) of the University of Montenegro will once again mark the National Day of Raising Awareness of Libraries, October 5, with a central program called "Libraries for Students" which will be held in seventeen public libraries in Montenegro.
Thanks to the initiative of the Central University Library that all public libraries in Montenegro support this action, on Tuesday, October 5, all Montenegrin students, regardless of whether they study at public or private universities, will be able to join 17 public libraries for free:
- Andrijevica - Narodna biblioteka Andrijevica
- Bar – Narodna biblioteka i čitaonica „Ivo Vučković“
- Berane – Narodna biblioteka „Dr Radovan Lalić“
- Bijelo Polje – Narodna Biblioteka - Centar za kulturu Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo
- Budva – JU Narodna biblioteka Budve
- Cetinje – Narodna biblioteka i čitaonica „Njegoš“
- Herceg Novi – Gradska biblioteka i čitaonica Herceg Novi
- Kolašin - Narodna biblioteka „Ljubo Anđelić“
- Kotor – Gradska biblioteka i čitaonica Kotor
- Mojkovac - Narodna Biblioteka / Centar za kulturu „Nenad Rakočević“
- Nikšić - Narodna biblioteka “Njegoš”
- Plav – Narodna biblioteka / Centar za kulturu Plav
- Pljevlja – Narodna biblioteka „Stevan Samardžić“
- Podgorica – Narodna biblioteka „Radosav Ljumović“
- Rožaje – Narodna biblioteka Rožaje
- Šavnik - Narodna biblioteka Šavnik / JU Centar za kulturu, sport i medije
- Ulcinj - Narodna biblioteka “Mirko Srzentić”
In addition to this, the Central University Library will donate 100 titles of the University of Montenegro to the National Library in Šavnik on October 5, in order to replenish the fund of this library.
BOOK PROMOTIONS IN NIKŠIĆ AND BERANE
In addition to participating in the action of the Library for Students, the National Library "Njegoš" from Nikšić will mark the National Day of Raising Awareness of Libraries by promoting the novel "Kastigulja" by Jasenka Lalović, which will be held on October 5 at the City Hall in Nikšić.
Also, the National Library "Dr Radovan Lalic" in Berane will organize the promotion of a monograph on its library on the same day, which was recently published by the Center for Culture of Berane.
LIBRARY OF THE PARLIAMENT OF MONTENEGRO DONATES 200 PUBLICATIONS LIBRARIES IN ŠAVNIK
In order to mark the National Day of Raising Awareness about Libraries, the Library of the Parliament of Montenegro will donate 200 publications from its surplus fund to the National Library in Šavnik.
The aim of marking the National Day of Raising Awareness of Libraries is to remind the public of the importance of library participation in the process of formal and non-formal education, as well as to contribute to raising the level of expertise of library staff in Montenegro and information literacy of library users.
The program is implemented within the Erasmus + project of the Western Balkans Library Network Support Network (LNSS) through the modernization of libraries and the level of expertise and qualifications of library staff in higher education institutions in the Western Balkans.
