Competition for Encouraging Participation in Programs Horizon 2020 and COST
In 2020/2021, the Ministry of Science will co-finance projects of research and cooperation of scientific institutions, companies and other legal entities from Montenegro related to their participation as partner in current international research or innovative projects. The priority of this Competition is engagement in programs Horizon 2020 or COST, however, there may be other prestigious programs of international cooperation from the field of science and innovations taken into consideration.
Projects should provide: faster adoption of priority areas or research defined in European level, initiation of related research on national level and faster connecting with relevant participants in Europe, as well as engagement of young researchers in prosperous fields of research.
Projects will provide engagement in Horizon 2020 or COST projects as affiliated partner (Horizon 2020 – third party partner; COST – partner). Condition for applying for funds of this Competition is that there is identified project where the team wants to be part of and initial approval of the project coordinator for affiliation of the team of Montenegro to the team of Montenegro. To the Competition may apply teams that have already been affiliated to some of current Horizon 2020 or COST projects lasting until 2022 or longer.
Project funds may be spent for the following costs: methodology development, field research, gathering and processing data, travel to work meetings with European partners (if not covered by the project where the team is included), development of models, prototypes, dissemination of results etc. Personal costs may cover engagement of young researchers and expert associates (persons with higher education, students of master studies, Master of Science, PhD students or young doctors of philosophy – until 35 age of life) and encouraging measures for experienced researchers and associates, team members.
For projects lasting two years (2020 and 2021), the Ministry of Science will approve to the project carrier amount of up to 20.000 € (for both research years), that may amount to 100% of foreseen costs. Personal costs may be amounted to maximum 50% of total project value. Institution may co-finance additional costs of project from its own sources.
One institution – carrier of the project from Montenegro, may exercise the right to co-finance maximum 3 projects from this item of the Competition by the Ministry of Science during 2020/2021 in accordance with project rank list.
