The University of Montenegro adopted the Gender Equality Plan for the period 2022-2026, with the aim of stronger respect for gender equality at the institution itself, but also to create the necessary conditions for submitting project ideas within the Horizon Europe and Erasmus programs.

Along with the civilizational importance of gender equality, human freedoms, and the provision of opportunities and recognition, the responsibility of the University of Montenegro is to appreciate and recognize that men and women are equally important for scientific research and professional development, advancement and decision-making, bringing a more complete approach to the development of the institution/ organizations and benefits for society as a whole.

The Plan for Gender Equality of the University of Montenegro (UCG-PRR/UoM-GEP) follows institutional, national, international and European policies, strategies and principles, based on the highest legal act of the country - the Constitution of Montenegro (Article 6, Article 8, Article 18). ) and the institutional act - Statute of the University of Montenegro (Article 3). The strategy and action plan for gender equality of the University of Montenegro (UCG) are aligned with the University Development Strategy 2019-2024 (Goal IV.3. Support for social and cultural development) and the Code of Ethics, which recognizes the orientation to become the leading institution for gender equality in the country.

The Gender Equality Plan (PRR/GEP) is an instrument that sets principles for the management of institutions and organizations in such a way that they nurture and achieve the goals of equality and non-discrimination.
