Phishing Attack on Email Server

Phishing Attack on Email Server

Dear users of the Academic network of the University of Montenegro,

Phishing attack on email server was done yesterday.

Phishing is generally the type of fraud via email that aims to get a user to visit a fake page and leave his/her personal information on it.

In this case, clicking on this fake page you reveal your password for academic email and compromise the access to a range of services that you access via your academic email address (the access to the university site, attendance records, SNIKE service, surveys, session materials,…).

If you did not open this email or click on the link which takes you to the fake page, please delete it!

If you clicked on the link which proceeds to the fake page, please change your password immediately or contact the Center of Information System if you cannot access your email account.

Recommendations for future phishing attacks:

  • Do not open email messages from unknown addresses!
  • Do not trust messages that the sending address does not match with the name of the sender or link address that directs you!
  • Do not trust messages that in the name of CIS are delivered in English!
  • Check CIS website and University website for any such action!
